The forum brought together researchers, policy makers and regional organisations from the Netherlands, Germany and beyond. Through inspiring keynote presentations and contributions from experts, participants explored the challenges and opportunities facing our border region. Interreg projects such as ERMWIC and Open Grensland (Open Borderland) also showcased how European cooperation translates into practical solutions, resilience, governance and social cohesion.
In the afternoon, participants continued the exchange in interactive discussion sessions. Topics included the future of the Euregio Rhine-Waal and Interreg Germany-Netherlands, political developments in the border region, knowledge transfer between students and businesses, and how to ensure that cross-border cooperation continues beyond Interreg VI. The discussions offered plenty of opportunities to share experiences, discover new perspectives and explore ideas for future collaboration.
The day concluded with a joint reflection on the key takeaways, followed by drinks and networking, to continue conversations and build new connections.
A big thank you to all speakers, participants and organising partners for contributing to such an inspiring day!
