As part of the Keuzedeel, learners take part in a Euregional cooperation project in which they actively work on the skills that are central to the Keuzedeel: collaborating with people from a different culture, German language skills and adapting flexibly to a new environment. Dutch and German learners and teachers work together on tasks and projects. They exchange knowledge, discover each other’s cultures and develop essential international and intercultural skills. The binational cooperation forms the core of the Keuzedeel and offers learners an enriching, Euregional learning experience. The tasks developed support this process and provide structure and depth in the development of these skills. The Keuzedeel is also deliberately broad in scope, making it applicable in international collaborations with other (neighbouring) countries. By participating in this Keuzedeel, learners strengthen their position in the labour market in the border region.
The Keuzedeel builds on the complementary binational qualification BZBB NRW-NL, which is currently in the final phase of development. This qualification focuses on cultural knowledge, (inter-)cultural competences, Dutch language skills and vocational competences in a Euregional (binational) context comparable to the Keuzedeel.
The Euregio Mobility project is being implemented as part of the Interreg VI Germany-Netherlands programme and is co-funded with €3.3 million by the European Union, the MWIKE NRW and the provinces of Gelderland, North Brabant and Limburg.
