Following a welcome by Euregio Chair Hubert Bruls, Robert Polman, Veiligheids- en Gezondheidsregio Gelderland-Midden, and Niklas Killewald, Kreis Wesel, gave inspiring presentations that encouraged reflection on the resilience of the Euregio Rhein-Waal.
What is the added value of inter-municipal and Euregio cooperation for the region’s resilience, and are additional facilities for emergency information points required in municipalities with a high number of cross-border commuters? These kinds of questions were discussed in detail during the workshops, which were moderated by Jan van Zomeren, Euregio Ambassador, Andreas Kochs, Managing Director of Euregio Rhine-Waal, and Heidi de Ruiter, Deputy Managing Director of Euregio Rhine-Waal.
The topic of ‘resilience’ met with great interest, and a desire was expressed to address this pressing issue within the Euregional context.
