Around 20 member municipalities had registered for this meeting to strengthen their cross-border contacts and get to know the other Dutch and German municipalities better.
The day began in the Voswinckelshof Museum, where Mayor Michaela Eislöffel and Councillor Tagrid Yousef warmly welcomed those present on behalf of the city of Dinslaken. Project coordinators Piet Boomsma and Svenja Arntz then explained the funding opportunities for large and small projects as part of the EU Interreg VIA Germany-Nederland programme. Managing Director Andreas Kochs then informed the members about developments in the new EU funding period from 2028.
The day continued with a visit to a museum and a guided tour of Dinslaken. The afternoon was dedicated to urban development. The dialogue partners visited the site of the former Lohberg colliery. The colliery was shut down in 2005 and the site is currently being completely redeveloped, including a cultural centre and a Caritas study hotel, where there was plenty of opportunity for discussions over a snack.
