Health care

The health care system has to be seen from a cross-border perspective in order to benefit the general good of the citizens living in the Euregio Rhine-Waal area. Dutch and German general practitioners, medical specialists, hospitals and health insurances and the like cooperate to increase the quality of health care in the border area. It has for years been a special concern of the Euregio Rhine-Waal to coordinate cooperation in this field. Many projects have already been successfully completed.

Euregional cross-border Health care Forum
The goal is to give patients simple and unhindered access to medical care in the neighbouring country. For that purpose, the Euregional cross-border Health care Forum was founded, which at the moment has over 44 member organisations. Current health care topics are discussed several times each year and new ideas for projects are developed and evaluated.

Cross-border Health care Project

The Euregio Rhine-Waal developed the Cross-border Health care Project in cooperation with the UMC St Radboud.
The results of the Cross-border Health care Project can be seen in the final reports of the individual projects. The final reports can be found in the "publications" segment. A newsletter concerning cross-border health care is regularly published.
